JACOB
I was sitting on a caramel leather chair in my new office in downtown Manhattan. Our office space was smaller than Axiom but the entire floor was brand new. Everything modern. Unlike my old job, where I was surrounded by old stuck-up pricks who didnât want to spend a penny on renovation.
Here, creativity circulated my bloodstream. I was stoned on new ideas. And the best part? Well there were two.
France, a skinny, tall red-head with long, curly hair and freckles all over her face was one of the most down-to-earth colleagues Iâd ever had. Even though weâd been working together for less than two weeks, I knew we made a great team.
Lucy texted me Franceâs information and apologized for the scandal after we met, to which Sage deeply rolled her eyes. I met with France a couple days later, we talked, signed the contract with our lawyers, and ladi-da-da.
The second-best thing about this new job? Zach came to work with us. After meeting Lucy, that same night I hung out with Zach. He teased me like shit for Sage and then agreed to hop on this train with me once I told him a bit about the company.
Zach walked into my office and sat on the couch in front of my desk. Every office was covered in glass, leaving no room for privacy but hey, work was workâI wasnât here to jack off.
âI love it here man. I needed this. A change. Especially after being at Axiom for forever.â
âThereâs a new vibe here. Things are looking up.â I agreed.
âI hope so for you.â He smirked, taking a sip of his coffee. âHowâs my favorite girl in the worldâhowâs Sage?â he goaded me for the fun of it.
I sent a murderous glare his way. âSheâs good.â
âLetâs go out soon, me and her, you and my wife.â
A low chuckle passed my lips. âYouâre a dick. Howâs the baby?â
âSheâs cute as a button. Makes me excited to go home.â
I could picture it perfectly. My future with Sage. Her pregnant with our baby. Her tits doubling in size.
Man, the fun we could haveâ¦
âIâm hereâsorry Kathleen had a question.â France took a spot on the single couch next to Zachâs seat. So far, we were a pretty small team. She made a lot of money, sure, but we had many experts to hire and we knew the company would be expanding over the next couple of years. Not everything could be bought simultaneously.
Other than Zach and I, France hired an HR manager to take care of all future recruitment. Next stop was hiring a financial advisor, so we didnât jump ship too soon. Zach took care of all our PR. And I glued everything together for the public image and controlling the rest.
âWhere did you get this coffee, Zach? Wow.â
âZach has a knack for finding the best places for anything. Food, smoothies, coffeeâ¦girls,â I grinned at him and he winked at France. He looked like a child whoâd just been praised.
âI want you in the next photoshoot for our watch collection.
